En 2009 (un año después de publicar “Saturday Nights & Sunday Mornings”) Counting Crows dejaron Geffen Records para hacer música de forma independiente desde Internet. Ahora, el 10 de abril, llega su nuevo trabajo, “Underwater Sunshine (or What We Did on Our Summer Vacation)”, que estará disponible en streaming gratuito en Spotify y otros lugares de la red. Collective Sounds se encargará de editar el disco en vinilo, CD y descarga.

“Underwater Sunshine (or What We Did on Our Summer Vacation)”, con producción de Shawn Dealey, fue grabado en una semana de abril y otra de junio de 2011 y contiene versiones de Fairport Convention, Bob Dylan, Teenage Funclub, Travis, Gram Parsons y otros.
