Se anuncian un concierto y un álbum de homenaje a Syd Barrett, líder de la primera formación de Pink Floyd, que en enero habría cumplido 80 años. Y en julio se cumplirán veinte años de su fallecimiento.
El concierto tendrá lugar el 10 de octubre en Cambridge Corn Exchange, el lugar donde Barrett dio su último concierto, en febrero de 1972. La fecha elegida es la del Día Mundial de la Salud Mental. Ya han confirmado su presencia Kula Shaker, Soft Machine, Men On The Border, Diana Silveira & The Psychedelic Circus, Radhika y Pünk Flöyd, a los que se sumarán invitados sorpresa.
El álbum, Clowns and jugglers: The songs of Syd Barrett, que verá la luz el 9 de octubre en cedé y vinilo, contiene nuevas grabaciones, material previo inédito y grabaciones en directo de diferentes épocas de Pink Floyd, David Gilmour, David Bowie, Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets, Soft Machine, Voyage 35, All About Eve, Rosalie Cunningham, Tim Bowness, Theo Travis, Henge, Robyn Hitchcock ft. John Paul Jones, entre otros.
