El Smithsonian renueva su magna antología del jazz

En 1973, el Instituto Smithsonian lanzó una magna antología del jazz con carácter didáctico, “Smithsonian Collection of Classic Jazz”. Ahora, de la mano de su propia discográfica Smithsonian Folkways, la ha renovado con “Jazz: The Smithsonian Anthology”, una caja de 6 CDs y un imprescindible libro de 200 páginas, en la que se documenta la historia del jazz. La obra se organiza cronológicamente, cubriendo el nacimiento y desarrollo del jazz, desde sus orígenes hasta 2003. Además de un ensayo de fondo, el libro contiene un estudio de cada uno de lo 111 cortes, convirtiéndose en una fabulosa herramienta didáctica. Karonte distribuye en España “Jazz: The Smithsonian Anthology”.
